Psychic Called in to Help in Search for Missing St. Pete Police Cadet

William Constantine, who is a nationally known psychic, visited Kelly Rothwell's Indian Rocks Beach condo.

ST. PETERSBURG - Family and friends of Kelly Rothwell have enlisted help from a Tampa-area psychic in their search for the 35-year-old police cadet, last seen on March 12.

William Constantine visited the Indian Rocks Beach condominium Monday that Rothwell has shared with boyfriend David Perry.

In a phone interview on Monday, March 21, Constantine said he met with Rothwell's mother, Nancy, at the second-floor condo. The condo has been unoccupied since Kelly was reported missing on Sunday, March 13.

She was last seen leaving a Chili's Grill and Bar Restaurant on Saturday, March 12, where she told a friend she was breaking up with Perry, her live-in boyfriend.

Detectives with the Pinellas County Sheriff's Department say they are still treating her disappearance as a missing person's case. Perry has refused to talk with investigators about Rothwell's whereabouts and has left Florida for New York.

On Monday, Constantine said that he felt like he picked up some clues at the apartment, which still has furnishings and belongings of the couple.

He said that he shared those images and impressions with Nancy Rothwell, who was with him at the condominium. Rothwell lives in Baltimore but is in Florida to look for her daughter. Deputies joined them during Monday's visit, he said.

Constantine said he sensed the smell of cleaning fluid and felt that there was an altercation at the condo. Constantine hopes to return to the condo and get more of a personal feeling for the space.

In the past week, the search for Rothwell has taken a much more public turn. Her friends and relatives have started a campaign on Facebook to get her story before the public eye.

Friend Donna Scharrett has begun adding downloadable posters that can be printed and posted.

WBFF Fox 45 in Baltimore, where Kelly grew up, carried the story about her disappearance. CNN’s Nancy Grace has mentioned Kelly Rothwell’s case on her Facebook page. Scharrett said she was contacted by a producer from the show last week, but nothing has been scheduled yet.

The newspaper Star Gazette in Elmira, New York, where 47-year-old Perry grew up, also carried a story, which elicited comments from people who knew Perry growing up or worked with him at a correctional facility there.

Kelly’s younger sister, Lauren, who is in Maryland, said by phone Monday that she is grateful that so many people have responded to her sister’s case.

Lauren said that no matter what has happened to Kelly, the family just wants to know where she is. They want to bring her home.

“Even with all of this happening," she said, "Kelly has brought all of us closer than we’ve been in a long time.

“It’s just like Kelly,” she said, “to bring people together. Whenever people meet her, they just fall in love with her. She leaves a light… a positive, bright, shining light, over everyone she comes across.”
